Meet Anand Palanivelu – Business Development Manager, Elmac Technologies

Posted On : Tuesday 06th October

On this blog we are presenting Anand Palanivelu, our Business Development Manager and a long-standing member of the Elmac Team.

How long have you worked at Elmac Technologies?

I started as an Applications Engineer back in 2012 and have progressed to Business Development Manager. I’ve been 5 years in the role, and I enjoy every aspect of it!

What is your background?

I am a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters degree in Business Administration. Working “with” pressure was my forte in previous roles handling Industrial Boilers, Bursting Discs and currently Breather Valves & Flame Arresters. Having been in customer-facing roles throughout my career, I have developed a “Can Do” attitude with a positive mindset and a real passion for delivering customer satisfaction.

What territories do you cover?

It’s easier to say what I don’t cover and that’s the UK. My duties cover the ‘Rest of the World’ so that’s more than enough to keep me busy!

What are your plans for the future?

COVID-19 has created some interesting challenges and opportunities for the business. With restricted travel and customers embracing new technologies to communicate, we can service customers globally from our home offices but this doesn’t mean that we won’t meet customers in person when things get better. We currently have representation in more than 50 countries around the world and our plan is to recruit more agents in order to increase our presence globally but on a local basis. With our exciting range of new products, we believe we have an unparalleled value proposition offering enhanced safety and compliance, world-class performance, and providing significant cost savings for our customers over the lifespan of our products.

And finally, what is your typical day?

There’s no “typical day” as such; every day is unique and special with Elmac. I tend to start most days with a 15-minute Suryanamaskar (Yoga) followed by a coffee and toast with my wife before getting ready for the roller-coaster ride ahead. My days are usually filled with back-to-back meetings and interesting conversations with customers & agents. I like to relax at the end of the day with my wife and some home-cooked food watching something on Netflix.
