Distilleries

Elmac has provided the world’s spirit producers with a comprehensive range of products that offer the highest levels of protection and regulatory compliance in their hazardous production and storage environments.

Distillers are facing increasing regulatory pressures that demand all storage tanks be fitted with adequate means of operational and emergency venting, and explosion protection devices for use in potentially combustible atmospheres that may be subject to BLEVE (engulfment by fire) incidents. In this very competitive market our customers seek solutions that will offer enhanced returns on investment by way of increased yields and lower operating costs.

Our innovatively engineered range of Flame Arresters, Valves and ancillary products can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of each distillery application and backed by a promise to provide our customers with an unrivalled level of pre and post-installation support. In addition to providing the required levels of protection, the use of our products will also deliver improved margins from higher yields, via reduced product/vapour losses, and lower operating costs derived from reduced downtime and maintenance.

Expertise

Our highly qualified team of technical experts work closely with our customers to determine their application-specific explosion protection and venting requirements for their distilleries. We are able to undertake site surveys and utilise sophisticated Computational Fluid Dynamics to design bespoke solutions that can be verified using our state-of-the-art in-house test facilities. In cooperation with our approved installation partners we can offer turnkey solutions with bespoke clamp designs that enable utilisation of existing tank fittings that can eliminate the need for hot works.

Technology

Elmac’s Flame Arresters incorporate our industry-leading E-Flow™ technology that delivers higher rates of flow, lower pressure drop and reduced fouling characteristics. Our extensive range of unstable detonation arresters incorporates the patent-protected HEDS™ technology and offers protection in all explosion scenarios with no installation limitations. The patented protected lightweight ERB range of flame arresters facilitate installation in the most difficult to access situations and our range of high performance Pressure/Vacuum Relief Valves offer a unique PTFE sealing system designed to reduce product losses with a best-in-class <1SCFH at 90% of set pressure.
